Sinjita Basu

As a photographer who also loves to paint, I am especially drawn to 3-dimensional painterly photographs. My portraits are characterised by rich complementary colours and carefully placed subjects and objects that make purposeful utilisation of ambient light.

 

I am happy to share that this specific fine-art style of photography is very rare in India and I am one of the few to render it for clients.

Family Portraits
My family package includes photoshoots for children, couples, expecting parents and families. I like to shoot people in natural surroundings, where they can be themselves and enjoy each others' company. If a client wants shots indoors, I arrange the same either in their home or at my little studio. My family photos are characterised by a candid intimacy that brings out real emotions and the genuine fondness that people have for one another.

Storybook Images
Earlier this year, I started offering clients an opportunity to be photographed in a setting of their choice that they feel inspired by. This could be a still from a movie that stayed with you, a classical painting that you are in awe of or even a visual lyric that you often go back to. Together we will discuss and recreate that moment with an appropriate outdoor location or studio set to make that figment of your imagination a tangible piece of reality.

Brand Shoots
I collaborate with brands where we come up with a unique set of shot ideas to best bring out the quality, texture and designs of their products. This could be clothes, toys or even other lifestyle products like bags, shoes, furniture or crockery. The idea is to integrate my unique style of painterly photography with the brand's objective of making a mark on viewers across social media platforms or even in physical stores. My style of emotional storytelling is bound to make this a unique experience for brands.
